The Louis Ross Golden Cairn Awards, hosted by Southeast Youth Corps (SYC), is an event focused on celebrating local outdoor athletes, enthusiasts, and organizations, by recognizing their efforts, accomplishments, and contributions to the local landscape. This awards ceremony gathers and recognizes Chattanooga’s second to none outdoor community under one roof, while simultaneously furthering SYC’s mission to engage local youth in employment, education and recreation opportunities.
The evening’s awards will be divided into two categories, the Golden Cairn Club Award and the Golden Cairn Outdoor Ambassador Award. The Golden Cairn Club Award will be bestowed upon the local club or organization that has provided the outdoor recreation or sports community with the most generous gifts of time, skills or support over the past year. The Golden Cairn Outdoor Ambassador Award will be presented to the individuals that best embody sportsmanship and/or community outreach within their respective genre. Genres for this year’s Golden Cairn Awards include: road biking, mountain biking, rock climbing, trail running, road running, swimming, paddling, SUP, triathlon and hiking.
Nominations for the Club and Ambassador awards will be collected via a Survey Monkey Nomination Form, from February 24th to March 14th. Check back Feb. 24th for more details.
